Holocaust Survivors and Coyne of the Realm Clash With Lucy Johnstone and Anti-Psychiatry Trolls

Unprofessional responses to my "The Holocaust Intruded..." blog presaged a more sophisticated, continuously updated effort to destroy my professional reputation and erase me from social life.

These initial comments began a longer thread immediately after my PLOS Mind the Brain blog, The Holocaust Intruded Into Conversations About Psychiatric Diagnosis. was dropped into circulation on August 25, 2015. The comments show how Peter Kinderman’s followers react to a threat to their leader’s reputation and their tribal interests in portraying psychiatrists as Nazis. The attack drew responses from Holocaust survivor and eminent psychiatrist Bernard “Barney” Carroll, along with psychiatrist John “Mickey” Nardo whose willingness to hold psychiatrists and anti-psychiatists accountable for their excesses won lavish praise when he died 18 months later.

Both Bernard and Mickey were under harsh attack on Twitter and in comments on Mickey’s 1BoringOldMan blog. Mickey developed techniques for detecting sockpuppet accounts. He was able to show Lucy Johnstone posing as someone else praising her snarky attacks on critics. We did not reveal that we could spot this.
