A Temple University Administrator Had My Article Removed from Medium by Spreading Wildly False Accusations and Citing Gun Violence.
I had planned to start writing on SubStack once I familiarized myself with some of its extraordinary bells and whistles. I expected I would still be able to direct my readers from Substack back to my 46 articles on Medium that would be kept as an archive. But these plans were rudely interrupted when my most recent Medium article was “suspended,” with the threat of the rest of my articles becoming unavailable even to my hundreds of Medium followers who pay to see them.
The rules by which my article was removed did not exist when I signed up to write for Medium. I never saw any discussion about such rules being implemented. Surely, the announcement of the arbitrary rules of censorship being imposed on Medium would have generated considerable controversy, and maybe a mass exodus of authors from the platform.
Medium now claims sole authority and final decisions about whether articles can be removed.
